On Tuesday, May 19 the Western Maine Labor Council will host a panel discussion and slide show about the recent historic strike at Fairpoint, followed by questions and answers.
CWA and IBEW members stayed out of work on strike against Fairpoint for over four months, some of it during bitter cold weather, with nearly flawless commitment to holding the line. This tremendous solidarity, along with a solid negotiating team and broad community support carried the day and brought the workers back to the job with a contract they were able to accept.
How did they do this? And what did they learn along the way?
Join us Tuesday May 19 to find out.
