A panel discussion and slide show, followed by questions and answers, presented by the Western Maine Labor Council
CWA and IBEW members stayed out of work on strike against Fairpoint for more than four months, some of it during bitter cold weather, with nearly flawless commitment to holding the line. This tremendous solidarity, along with a solid negotiating team and broad community support carried the day and brought the workers back to the job with a contract they were able to accept.
How did they do this? And what did they learn along the way?
Join us May 19 to find out.
The panel will include both union leadership and members from the rank and file.
Note: The regular WMLC monthly meeting will commence immediately following the program. Union members and friends are invited to stay if they wish.
