19th Annual Worker Memorial/May Day Dinner May 3 2025

The Western Maine Labor Council will host its 19th Annual Workers' Memorial Day/May Day Dinner on Saturday, May 3rd, at 49 Franklin Reception Hall & Mistic Theater located at 49 Franklin Street Rumford Maine.  Socializing at 4:30 Dinner 5:15. 

The evening includes a delicious buffet meal, a moving ceremony honoring Maine workers who lost their lives on the job last year, award presentations, raffles, and more.

Our Keynote Speaker is Rebecca L. Reindel,  National AFL-CIO Safety and Health Director.

Three awards will be given this year to strong champions of workers' rights and workplace safety: The Bruce D. Roy Award will be given to Joe Mailey, IAMAW Local S6 who has spent years advancing the cause of organized labor,  The Workers’ Solidarity Award will be given to two recipients this year:  North Jay Maine DOT Workers MSEA-SEIU 1989 and Women of Steel USW Local 900 Rumford.  The Francis Perkins Award will be bestowed in honor of Representative Amy Roeder, a member of three unions, (PATFA, AEA, and SAG-AFTRA), Amy has been a passionate fighter for working Mainers and fair labor practices.
